Housing association sets sights on private rental market

A housing association has joined the Tenancy Deposit Scheme after announcing that it is embarking on an ambitious expansion into the private rented sector.

London and Quadrant Group, the largest provider of social housing in London and the South-East, is to invest £10m in private rental properties.

Housing minister Mark Prisk recently urged social landlords to ‘take the leap of faith’ and branch out into the private rented sector to help meet demand.
